WebJun 26, 2014 · Guys that is not true. You can not physically fit a PCIe x16 on a PCI x8 ( cause x16 has more pins than x8 ) Luckily you can use a cable or a port expansioner which will do the job. ( from one end is x8 from the other is x16 ) There is a difference between thouse. And that difference is about 50% data transfer capacity. I tried both desktops with the video card in both the x16 main PCIe slot, and in the second full length one, I believe though the second slot is 8x, but it should not matter. I'd get a PCIe card with 2 M.2 sockets and use the second slot (first still goes to x8). This way you can use the two on the board and two from the card.
